Chris made me laugh the other day. Chloe's speech therapist had just left and he came in the house and asked me if i'd email Mrs Garmon and address. I looked at him funny and said Why does Mrs Garmon need an address? He said so that she can come to Chloe for her speech class. I realized then he meant Mrs Miller but he mixed her up with Jessalyns 5th grade teacher Mrs Garmon- but not because he even knew her, but because as the speech teacher walked out the door she said, let me know that address and I will put it in my Garmin GPS. LOL. Too funny. We have a Tom Tom brand GPS and love it on road trips. We don't use it locally but when we are on the interstate or going to buy something from craigslist it comes in handy! Do you own one?

I've said it before...
I know it seems like I've said this before but I really need to get a term life quote for our family. Now that we've expanded, I think it's important to make sure we have proper coverage. Even now as I blog, my little guy is crying for me. I have held him all night long and had to put him down for just a minute. I am so thankful that he needs me and wants me! I can't imagine my life without him or what it must be like to bury a child. No one should have to do that. I know that having life insurance is so important. Its one of the things in life you never hope to use, but know that if needed you will be glad you had it! Do you have life insurance for your family? What about your kids?

Smoking...
I've never been a fan of smoking. I don't fuss at those that do, I just don't join them either! I don't know much about smoking, or cigars, so when looking up different kinds of cigars I had to do some research on Acid cigars since I had no idea what they were! I know that smoking is a costly habit and I never thought about the idea of buying them online, but hey you can buy just about anything online these days! Acid cigars apparently can only be appreciated if you try them, but I don't plan on smoking any time soon!

Skin Care
My skin seems to change from time to time. Especially going into a new season, I can expect to have some changes. Add on top of that having a baby, gives me what seems to be a one way ticket to acne! I don't deal with wrinkles too much right now, seeing that I'm only 29 years old, but I do know they are coming! I have some under my eyes and so using the right anti wrinkle creams are important! Finding a match for me was easy. I use the best! I am more in the preventive stage then the repair stage! How about you? Do you use any kind of anti wrinkle creams?

I know
I know there is no magic weight loss pills out there, and the best thing one can do is take care of themselves but I sure wish there was a quick fix! I know that it took me several years to get as big as I am, so I can only expect that it would take several years to lose the weight too! I am hard on myself when it comes to weight loss and how I look. I want to be thinner, but I know that even thin people struggle with how they look! It's really about taking care of yourself and loving yourself. It's a hard lesson to learn, but an important one! If weight loss pills work for you then wonderful!!! Or if you are like me and don't want to go that route, then hang in there. One day we will catch on!

Christmas...
With Christmas around the corner, we are looking closely at toys that are on sale! We have checked out the local sale papers and watched closely at what the kids are asking for. Its really the first year that Chloe is able to look at the TV and say "I want!" I remember doing that as a kid! I loved this time of year when the new stuff was in the commercials. I would ask for it too. I don't know if mom kept a running list or just picked something when it got closer to time. I know that I would change my mind and by the time Christmas would be here I would not remember the things I said months ago that I wanted! We only get the kids 3 toys. How many gifts do you buy your kids for Christmas? Do they get on overload with gifts and toys they don't play with?

Beautiful
I think that glass tiles are beautiful! I love how they look in bathrooms and kitchens. I am not patient enough to install them myself, but Chris would be! He has the patience of a saint! I on the other hand would end up breaking them! I love the turquoise colors on the glass tiles. They are stunning. With all this talk of buying a house its fun to dream about how we will fix it up. I know that if we don't get the house we bid on, then there will be another house that we will live in. I love being home with my mom, but the space is crowded now that we have three kids! Having two rooms and a bathroom is nice, but having a house would be even better!!! My brother restored an old home, he knows about all that- he will be giving us ideas too!

House?
We put a bid in on Paw's house yesterday. We are suppose to hear from them by Wednesday night. The bank that owns the house is in California, so we are in North Carolina, so the time difference is in play. My mom is really excited. There were 4 bids total. I hope we had the highest cash bid. There are many things that will need to be done. My mom wants to get the heating and air taken care of. My step dad wants to have the walls blasted from the paint and I want to rip up the carpet and see that beautiful wood flooring! Once we know we have the house we will start the projects to make it ready to live in! Checking out different websites with companies that offer a "satisfaction guarantee" is super important to me! Just like the faucet.com website that sells Hansgrohe brand faucets! Seeing that satisfaction guarantee makes me look into it even more! I know that if we do get the house we will have many months of work to prepare it to be ready for our family, but it will be fun to make it like we want it!

Great Paw Paw’s House
We put a bid in for this house today. I am not sure if we will win, since others bid on it too. It’s only been on the market for 13 days… and is about to sell. Its really big. hard to tell by the pictures. But plenty of room for our family. My great grands had this house and my paw paw lived in it as a kid. He was one of 10. Five girls and five boys. So you know it’s roomy. My mom use to visit this house as a little girl. It has lots of sentimental attachments to it. After great paw died, Uncle Max & Aunt Sally lived in it. Then a guy named Daryl bought it and just lost it to foreclosure. We are hoping to get it back in the family. The land is on our family land, but doesn’t belong to anyone in our family! My uncle wants the land, so he offered $10,000 for the land in front of the house. So if we get it we will sell that part to him. This house sits across the street from my maw maw’s house. Up on the hill where I use to go snow sledding and play in the barn. I love it. I needs a LOT of TLC, and the price is right. Plus it needs a heat pump in it. No heat, no air- so we will have to pay for that right away before we could move in and, we need to rent a dumpster and clean out all the junk left behind. It will take a full days work to get that cleaned out.
Front of the house.
Back of the house
One of the three rooms upstairs… notice anything? Besides my sister?
Sunroom, you can enter from the master bedroom, or the porch.
Middle room upstairs, no closet, so its not considered a ‘real room’ according to the paperwork. My maw maw and paw paw lived in this room after they were married.
The stairs are really cool. Little and safe for the kids. There is a deep closet under the steps too!
Part of the kitchen. Every room needs work, but holds GREAT potential!
The view from the side of the house. You can see the roof of my mom’s house (where I live) look toward the tree line and you will see a roof with gutters in the distance. This is all family land, so you don’t have to worry with neighbors crowding your space!
I have always wanted to build a house on family land, so the idea of owning a home on family land is so awesome. My great grandfather had over 300 acres of land in the county at one time. Each of the 10 kids bought some land from him. What a legacy! I’m glad we still live on that land!
What a great view…
This is hard to see, because its all grown up, but its a heart shaped pond that my great grandfather built for his wife, my great grandmother. How sweet. Its about 1 foot deep. We would restore it for sure. It’s so cute.
I know mom wants us to have this house more than anything. She said that if the Lord moves us away from here, she would buy it from us. So that is good. I don’t know when we will hear back from them, but hopefully by the end of the week!

Good Times
We are enjoying our time in Mississippi. We came down on Thursday. We planned our trip on Wednesday. I love that about our job, we can just pack up and go. NO planning needed! Just jump in the car and drive. If you forget something then just pick it up along the way! I have taken few pictures, but not sure when I will be able to post them! We took the kids to see Dora and Diego and that was fun. We also visited the church where we use to be on staff. Its been years since we've been there! It was nice to see old friends. I am not sure when we will be back in NC, but I know it will be before Saturday- we have a weenie roast then!!!

I think I would be offended if someone offered me a diet pill Especially after having a baby! Even if it were a close friend who was just trying to be nice, I think it would still hurt my feelings! I have spent most of my life trying to lose weight, but can say that I've never used any kind of pill to do it! Maybe that is where I've gone wrong! I am thankful that I'm not a smoker, drinker. I don't even drink coffee but two or three times a year! I know that food is an addiction, but thankfully it something that you can slowly deal with! I don't know that I will ever be a health nut or an exercise guru, but I do desire to be healthy enough to be around for my children! I don't want to die young! So there is some motivation there! What is your motivation?

Stains
My moms couch has so many stains on it. I know it's probably 99.9% our fault! She has had this furniture for 20 years, and had it recovered a few years back. They use to have a rule that you could only eat popcorn on the couch. Once we moved in and sippy cups came along the popcorn rule went out the window. Now mom is in need of a team of steam cleaners to come in and freshen up her couch! We now keep it covered with a sheet. That helps to hid it but not clean it! I also run the vacuum over it from time to time, but it really needs a steam cleaning! Have you had success with steam cleaners before?

Amazing
It amazes me what people try to get away with, and sometimes they do! Thankfully the place where we work does extensive employee screening before they hire. That helps prevent a lot of problems in the future! I have never minded someone doing a back ground check on me, because I have nothing to hide! I know that in the past they've had people ready to hire and then after completing a back ground check they have to turn them down and find someone else for the job! I am thankful that I don't have a background! Neither does my husband. We don't have to worry about that when we look for work! In times like we are in now when work is hard to find, I know there are some employers that would not dare skip the screening because there are to many others out there looking for jobs! They would not want to be stuck with someone that could put their company at risk!

Horse
I have not spent much time with our horse since we added a horse to the field. A friend of the family was paying someone $300 to keep a horse in a field! So we offered to keep the horse for free, as long as he provided the feed. Our horse enjoys the company I'm sure! I did some research and found that the southern word we use 'britches' aka pants comes from the word breeches which are an item of male clothing covering the body from the waist down, aka pants! Breeches are still used this day as Equestrian clothing- for horse riding. The pants the horse jockeys wear are called breeches. I remember the first time I said britches to someone that was not from the south they laughed at me! I am glad I know where the word comes from now! I don't feel so silly for using it!

The best...
It seems like every time I turn on the TV there is another company claiming to have the best wrinkle cream on the market. I've learned in my few years of cosmetics that the best way to fight wrinkles is to prevent them by taking care of your skin! Of course some times that knowledge is no good to someone who says its too late! So I'm glad there are wrinkle creams out there, and they are proven to help remove the appearance of wrinkles, but they can't take them away! Even if you do botox, its not a life time fix, you have to keep going back for more and more. I am only 29 years old, and I'm doing my best to take care of my skin now. I've noticed the wrinkles under my eye area is actually getting better since I started using Mary Kay. I don't know if its the product or the fact that I'm actually taking care of my skin better! I read that drinking water is one of the best things you can do for your skin! I'm already on top of that! I drink water more than anything else!

CLean OUT!
Have you ever had a colon cleanse? My poor baby needs to clean out his colon! He is having trouble with his poop these days. I know it hurts him to be backed up. I had gone to a pediatric specialist (not for one of my kids, but for someone else) and they explained so well how our colon works and the whole pooping process. They explained it in terms that made since! Some times doctors are bad about spitting out words that only they understand! A guy I work with did a colon cleanse a few months ago- it was some kind of program he was trying, and you had to have a week of cleansing. He didn't make it past day 2. He was tired of it. I am sure that I could do it if I had to, but its not something I think about everyday! Right now I'm trying to remove dairy from my system. It takes a week to release from you. I'm on day five! So we are almost there! It is harder than I expected to give up milk products!

Road Trip
We left for Mississippi on Thursday morning. I had Chris take the van to siffords to have them make sure it was road worthy. Our van has been a good one for us! We've had some work done to it, but not a whole lot. The good thing is when we do have to have it worked on the parts aren't so expensive. When I had my accura I always dreaded the auto repair shop and was scared they would over charge me just because it was a foreign car! I can't imagine having to purchase Ferrari parts or other expensive car parts! Its amazing the price a part can cost! I am thankful that we have a friend of my dad's that will do all our repairs for us and only charge us for labor. We purchase our own parts, with his discount and then we pay him for the work. He usually has it fixed in a day! He works with my dad, but enjoys working on cars as a part time job. I don't know anything about fixing cars, and neither does Chris!

Go Green
It seems like everywhere you look people are talking about going green. Every store has bags you can buy to re-use to help with less paper bag waste. I read online that Green shopping aka shopping online uses less energy then shopping the retail store. I am all about shopping online. I am always about getting the best deal. Why waste my gas and time running all over looking for the best deal when I can sit at home and search online! I need to find my sister a cell phone. We bought one last year at the flea market and it was a rip off. So words of wisdom, don't buy from there! We could have gotten a better deal at the local retail store!

Push Bars
I've never had to worry about push bars for our vehicles, but if Chris ever gets the truck he wants I'm sure we will have to add a push bar to it! It helps to protect the vehicle from the normal damage that can occur. If money were no object I'd take Chris down to the local dealership and purchase him a truck and surprise him with it at work! Oh how fun would that be! I really like our van, and its practical for our family, but again if money were no object I'd pick out one like my in laws have- it holds eight people instead of seven and is more roomy. Like 8 adults. Not just 2 and 6 kids! Most mini-van's are not comfortable in the back when it comes to space. What kind of vehicles do you have or want?
